Bowel cancer awareness month runs in Australia every year from June 1 to June 30.
The initiative - run by Bowel Cancer Australia - aims to raise awareness of the disease to reduce the impact it has on patients through early detection and treatment.
Bowel cancer treatment has one of the highest success rates when diagnosed in the early stages which is why an understanding of symptoms and regular testing are both essential.
You can get involved in Bowel Cancer Awareness Month by holding an event in your community or workplace, or merely sharing key messaging through social media channels.
Every small action will help raise awareness and encourage early detection which could save the life of you or someone you love.
Bowel Cancer Australia is a not-for-profit organisation. Every cent raised through fundraising and sponsorship is spent on research and providing a support service for patients. Both of which enable Dr Stephen White and the Core Specialist Group to achieve better patient outcomes in the detection and treatment of bowel cancer.
