About Your Visit
Your in-person consultation will take place in the comfortable surroundings of the John Flynn Private Hospital, Coolangatta (serving Gold Coast, Queensland), or North Coast Surgical Suites, Lismore (serving Tweed and Northern Rivers regions, New South Wales).
Telehealth appointments are available via Phone for rural and regional patients or those with restricted access to our locations.
At your appointment, your specialist will discuss your treatment options or procedure in depth. This is your opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and gather as much information as you can.
We ask that you arrive at your appointment 10 minutes ahead of schedule to allow for any delays and to complete the necessary paperwork prior to your consultation.

Note: A valid GP or specialist referral is required to make an appointment with Dr Silverman.
Please give at least 24 hours notice, prior to your scheduled appointment time if you need to cancel an appointment. Our surgeons and specialists run strict schedules between multiple locations and last-minute changes have an impact on them and other patients. If you don't give at least 24 hours notice of a cancellation, you will incur a cancellation fee of $50.00.
Preparation for your consultation
If this is the first time you're visiting, it may be helpful to write down any questions you have in a notebook and bring it with you to your appointment.
It's easy to forget things when you're given a lot of new information, and there's nothing worse than remembering something important once you walk out the door.
What to bring to your consultation
Bring with you your Medicare card, Veteran Affairs card, Private Health Insurance information (if applicable), and any other relevant documentation such as a healthcare concession card.
Before you visit, make sure that your GP or referring specialist has sent their referral letter to us, or make sure you have a copy to bring with you. You'll also need to bring all x-rays, scans, and results of past tests.
For all obesity consultations, please also print and complete our Patient Health Information Sheet, supplied via email at the time of your appointment booking.
